Why run the Worthathon

  • A fun vibe with for great cause.
  • Challenge yourself in a unique endurance event!
  • Decide how many Km`s you would like to run or walk.
  • Let’s run for hope, run for courage, and run for a cure!
  • Entrance is free and every entrant will receive a Worthathon 2025 shirt.

The Worthathon shirt however is a compulsory paid item and the proceeds will go directly towards fighting cancer and helping children suffering or recovering from this illness.


Race info

  • Date: 26 - 27 September 2025
  • Time: 18:00 Friday – 18:00 Saturday.
  • Location: Start and Finish will be at the Voortrekker Monument Pretoria.
  • Participants can choose to run or walk.
  • For added safety both the stage during the night as well as the day stage will take place on venue grounds.
  • Walkers will stay confined to the venue premises for the whole 24 hours.
  • The minimum distance is 2 km.
  • After the initial 2 km, runners can continue in 5 km laps.
  • Runners may complete as many laps as they choose within the 24-hour period.

Please do not hesitate to take a late time slot as we aim to have a runner on the road throughout the 24 hour period.

Throughout the night, participants and families can camp on the venue grounds, creating a close-knit community of runners and supporters. There will be fires to keep warm, delicious food stalls, and music to keep the energy high and spirits lifted.

Whether you're running, walking, or cheering, the event is a celebration of resilience, hope, and togetherness.

Security will also be in place to ensure a safe environment throughout the event.
